How does it work, Piano Nobile?

Each project begins with a house call, our opportunity to meet you in person and hear about your ideas. Our first meeting results in a proposal and cost estimate, all of which is complimentary and without obligation. Many clients have multiple overlapping project ideas, and it often helps to work through a master plan and big picture timeline.

What is a typical timeline for Piano Nobile architectural projects?

Your project develops over 4 phases: Proposal and Planning, Design Development and Permitting, Construction Administration, and Furniture and Finishes. You can read more about each phase here. Commercial Projects follow a similar sequence. Projects that are strictly interior furnishing and finishes also follow the same timeline, although they may not require permitting.

What is a typical timeline for landscape design projects, independent from residential architecture?

Landscape design projects follow a similar timeline to our residential projects. The primary difference is that the Construction Administration phase is broken up into seasons for planting. It is common for installation of a garden to take place over one to two years, during which time we will continue to check on plant growth and monitor subsequent waves of planting. It is a beautiful, slow process that is deeply rewarding. You can see a detailed timeline for landscape design here.

Can I hear what past clients have to say about their experience working with Piano Nobile?

Yes! We’re blushing. We are happy to give you references on request.
