Learn the basics of textile design as you create your own repeating pattern and print it on premium wrapping paper. Together we will construct a repeating pattern made of hand-drawn elements before turning it into a block print. We will practice printing on different types of paper, exploring different layouts and colors, then we will print on our wrapping paper. No prior experience with printmaking is necessary. Skills include: pattern design, block carving, printmaking on varied papers. Each student will go home with their one of a kind wrapping paper, reusable printing block, paper prints, and notebook. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
