Artist’s note: Pike Place Market in Seattle is one of the oldest continuously operated public farmers markets in the United States. The market first opened in 1907 and has since been home to hundreds of local craftspeople, farmers, and merchants. This particular view is from walking the path down to the gum wall on Pike Street from 1st Avenue. This perspective highlights the topography of the market and how the layered shops create a dynamic experience.
